Forest Therapy/Bathing
An up-and-coming alternative healthcare modality, forest therapy/bathing is a practice that allows us to immerse ourselves in natural environments, and benefit from its therapeutic properties. Individuals can benefit from these sessions, regardless of their physical capabilities, as our competent forest therapists/guides are trained in handling individuals with mobility challenges.
Art Therapy
Art therapy has been demonstrated to enhance participants’ mood and wellbeing, through its psychotherapeutic properties. It enables us to better regulate, and express our feelings through creative techniques like painting, colouring, and sculpting, amongst many others. Art therapy has also gained popularity amongst older adults in Singapore in recent times, owing to its relatively user-friendly modalities. At Althorp Nursing Agency, our art therapists work hand-in-hand with our clients to plan programmes that best match their interests and capabilities.
Yoga Therapy
Conceptualised in the East but practiced worldwide now, the benefits associated with Yoga are unparalleled. Our Yoga therapy sessions are customised according to clients’ needs, preferences, and constraints, and are guaranteed to enhance participants’ physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
Animal-Assisted Therapy/Activities
The unique, and innate ability of domesticated animals to both lift our spirits, and enhance our physical abilities is well-documented. At Althorp Nursing Agency, we have collaborated with local organizations that provide animal-assisted therapy/activities to our clients in the comfort of their homes. These sessions are not only conducted in an enjoyable and ethical manner, but have been demonstrated to enhance the overall wellbeing of both our clients and the members of their household.
